#34 Pretty Hurt Machine
It had been over two decades since I had gone roller skating, but that didn’t stop me!! I went to try outs in March 2014, and that’s where my derby journey began….
My fresh meat group started with 12 girls, when it was time for our skills test in July there were only 4 of us eligible! I had survived, and I passed!! My reward was being picked up by the Schoolyard Scrappers!! I am proud to say I bleed blue on and off the track, and would do anything for my derby family.
AZDD is now a place I call home, if I could live at the warehouse and skate every day I would!! I am able to devote myself to the league because of my amazing family. My husband and two sons are my motivation, support system, biggest fans, and without them I don’t know what I would do! They challenge me to be the best me I can be!
I still haven’t decided what my favorite position to play is, I love them all. For now I am content with being a “utility player” with aspirations of becoming a triple threat!! I have been extremely fortunate to skate side by side with some of the best, and am grateful for all their words of wisdom!
When I’m not obsessing about derby I enjoy snowboarding, traveling, and seeking new adventures with my boys!
They say timing is everything… This is my time and derby is everything
