Now’s your chance to skate for the Arizona Derby Dames! We’re Arizona’s only banked track roller derby league, with skaters and trainers that are among the best in the sport.
AZDD is all about #MFT. At tryouts, your skating skills will be assessed, along with your willingness to learn the sport, and contribute to the growth of yourself and those around you, in the roller derby community.
You don’t need to have roller derby experience to tryout! Basic skating skills, and a willingness to learn the sport, go a long way. Veterans of the sport will be there to answer questions you have.
If you’re interested in being part of AZDD, but not comfortable on skates, the AZDD Regulators will also be at tryouts. NSOs (Non-Skating Officials) help with the bouts: scorekeeping, penalty tracking, and so much more. The sport would be chaos without them!

Tryout Fee: $10.00 – cash only. Bring additional cash for skate rentals, and identification.
Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes – something you’d be comfortable skating in or that you’d wear to work out (sweats, shorts, t-shirts). We will have helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards for you to borrow.
Bring water! Arizona is a desert, so it’s doubly important to stay hydrated during physical activity.
Tryouts are closed to the general public. This means family / friends cannot spectate. Please plan transportation accordingly.
