Mami Chula #36-24-36

Mami Chula

A native of South Phoenix, Arizona Mami Chula was raised by her immigrant Colombian parents until they split up. Following their separation, she lived with her father who was a very strict Catholic. Naturally, her father threw the rebellious Mami Chula out of the house when she was a teenager.

Because she had a reputation around her barrio for being so brutally beautiful her nickname came to be – Mami Chula, which means sexy lady in Spanish.

Mami spent much of her teen years living on the streets and getting arrested with ridiculous, comical frequency, building up a rap sheet that now reads not so much like a soap opera as an epic Russian novel. Mami first strapped on her skates as a means to escape quickly from the scene her multiple crimes.

Eventually, she and her roller-skating skills came to the attention of the owner of a local roller rink, who helped her cultivate her abilities and direct her talent to the world of roller derby. The derby is now the one true constant in Mami’s life, and she dedicates all her energy to perfecting her skills on the track as it may be the only thing keeping her off the streets of Phoenix.
