FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 9, 2006 ARIZONA DERBY DAMES HALLOWEEN BASH! THE BOMBSHELLS VS THE COFFIN DRAGGERS Saturday October 28th at the Castle Sports Club Phoenix, AZ – It’s almost Halloween and the Arizona Derby Dames are celebrating their fifth game this season with a Halloween Bash. These wicked ladies will celebrate their favorite holiday in style with a ghoulish grudge match between the prissy Bombshells and frightful Coffin Draggers. The self-proclaimed “prettiest girls in the morgue” are a spooky sight and will put a strong fight against the prim Bombshells. After losing to the Brutal Beauties in September, the Bombshells will be looking to prove that they aren’t just another pretty face! The Castle Sports Club is located at 11420 North 19th Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85029-3604 (602-331-2582). Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. with the bout starting at 8:00 p.m. Advance tickets can be purchased for $8 at the following locations: Bookmans, Cage World, My Ruka’s Garage, Cowtown, Eastside Records, Rios Distributions and the Castle Sports Club. Tickets will be $10 the night of the bout. On October 28th, the Bombshells will compete against the Coffin Draggers for two action-packed periods. The Coffin Draggers will debut some of their fresh meat that they have been grooming to put the “fun” in funeral. The Coffin Draggers are known to play hard and dirty and they will attack the Bombshells with a frightful vengeance. The Bombshells consist of two of the League’s founders, All the Way Mae and Prima Donna, who are looking to use their experience to outplay the ghostly Draggers. For those bad girls who play dirty, the penalty wheel will be spun, winning them such punishments as a Pillow Fight, the much-maligned Magic Marker Mustache, or the dreaded Slap Street (where audience members could win a chance to paddle those skaters who misbehave). Veteran roller girls Suzy Homewrecker, Joan Threat, All The Way Mae and Prima Donna started the Arizona Derby Dames league in the summer of 2005. These four dames wanted a new all-girl league to take over the world on roller skates. “Some girls are experienced skaters and have skated with other all-girl leagues; some are brand new to the game but now have excellent skills and are ready to compete. Either way it is going to be one hell of a good time.” according to Homewrecker. To add to the festivities, Phoenix goth-a-billy band “The Limit Club” will be performing their ghastly tunes, concessions will be available, and AZ Derby Dames merchandise featuring logos and images of your favorite teams and skaters will be on sale. Raffles will be held for VIP seats in the middle of the rink, dead center of the action, as well as prize bags. This will be a family event. Don’t miss the party. And after the game follow the Dames to their official Party venue, Hazelwood’s First Place Bar and Grill, on Indian School just east of 36th Street. The Arizona Derby Dames will also be washing dirty rods at their carwash fundraiser on Saturday October 21st. For those on the Eastside you can have your rod shined at Cage World (2110 W Southern Ave, Mesa). And the girls will also be at Apollo’s Lounge (5749 N 7th St, Phoenix). Both locations will have the Arizona Derby Dames ready to clean your ride from 8am. For media opportunities please contact The Arizona Derby Dame’s Media Director Andrea Beesley-Brown at 480-628-8505
